Guardian Angel Gala 2009

The Quinte Children’s Foundation is committed to the prevention of child abuse and neglect. This Foundation is one that I am very involved with and am part of the committee organizing the Guardian Angel Gala 2009 being held on March 7, 2009 at the Sears Atrium. The Event promises to be an elegant evening of superb dining, fine wines, live band and incredible Auction items for our guests. Tere will be Live and Silent Auctions throughout the evening.

All contributions made at the Gala will help local children in need, participate in sports and recreational activities and will also support our abuse prevention programs.

Congratulations to the Hanley Family as they are the ‘Guardian Angel’.  The Hanley’s have given so much for the children of our community and the ever increasing needs.  The Hanley’s are true Gardian Angels and an inspiration to us all on what it means to be community leaders.

The “Guardian Angel” Gala for 2009 was  wonderful and memorable success.  The Live Auction raised over $25,000 dollars.  The final numbers for the evening have not yet been confirmed and roughly 225 people attended the event.  The Banquet Centre put on an elaborate meal of steak and seafood along with soup and salad.

The evening is a unique opportunity to remind us that we are all angels by making a difference in the lives of htose who need our help.

“United Way of Quinte is a volunteer led non-profit organization that works in partnership with community agencies and organizations to develop innovative and collaborative social services, health, and community programs.”
For the last two years, I was one of many people that joined the planning committee to collectively work toward a goal of raising $80,000 through an event that was hosted at the Sears Atrium on College St in Belleville through a Casino night.  “With a Mardi Gras theme, more than $25,000 worth of auction items, black jack, other games of chance and entertainment, it promises to be a fun filled evening for all who attend.”. Last year this event raised $72,662 for United Way of Quinte.  This year they met the goal to the penny $80,000.

Our final celebration was for the committee, an event at the Belleville Bulls game in a box suite  with Uwe Krupp, former NHL star who was famous for scoring the memorable Stanley Cup goal for Colorado in the 1996 Stanley Cup finals.

Here are a few of our celebration pictures.
